Silhouettes
Overview
'Silhouettes' is a personal project exploring form, texture, and gesture through the absence of color. Shot entirely in black and white, the series pairs model and still-life compositions to study silhouette, movement, and material contrast.
Concept
Conceived as an experimental collaboration between photography, styling, and art direction, the project celebrates the purity of tone and shape. The model imagery focuses on line and posture - subtle gestures and negative space - while the still-life compositions play with the sculptural language of furniture, homeware, and balloon forms.
Without the distraction of color, light becomes the narrative: hard and soft edges defining form, contrast carving out emotion. The creative process was intuitive and collaborative, driven by curiosity and play - an opportunity to refine visual instincts and explore how minimal elements can still create depth and character.
The result is a cohesive black-and-white study that bridges movement and materiality, fashion and object - a meditation on contrast, collaboration, and the quiet strength of form.
